Peacefully at Sunnybrook's Veteran's Residence, Toronto, on Wednesday, October 31, 2012 in her 98th year. Beloved wife of the late James A. "Diamond Jim" Arnott for over 40 years and loving mother of James B Arnott. Dorie was a World War II veteran and decorated nurse. After marrying her dear love, Jim, and leaving the service, she volunteered for more than 30 years at seniors' residences, playing piano and singing for all the "old dears". Many thanks for the tremendous care she received from all the wonderful staff at Sunnybrook's Veteran's Residence and to her marvellous caregivers. Friends are welcome to visit on Saturday, November 10, 2012 at the R.S. Kane Funeral Home (6150 Yonge Street, at Goulding, south of Steeles) at noon, with a Memorial Service to follow at 1 p.m. in the Chapel, followed by a brief reception. In lieu of flowers, memorial remembrances can be made to the Veteran's Care Program at Sunnybrook.
