Doris Porter

It is with deep sadness that we, the family, announce the passing of our dear mother, Doris, in her 91st year. Peacefully after a short illness on Tuesday January 24, 2006 at Markham Stouffville Hospital. Beloved wife of the late Walter Alvin Porter (past Sergeant of Metropolitan Toronto Police). Loving daughter of the late Albert and Dorothy Jarvis. Loving mother of Bruce and his wife Mary Catherine, Gail and her husband Barrie Cox and Kenneth. Granny will be sadly missed by her seven grandchildren: David and Brian Porter, Chris, Brian and Michelle Cox, and Kenny and Jennifer Porter. Survived by her brother Trevor Jarvis and her sister Audrey Hambleton. Doris will always be remembered for her laughter and love of her parents and family. The family will receive friends at the R.S. Kane Funeral Home (6150 Yonge Street, at Goulding, south of Steeles) on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday January 27, 2006 at 11a.m. at the funeral home. Interment Mount Pleasant Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
