On March14, 2008 Dodie passed away peacefully after a healthy and full life. She had just celebrated her 89th birthday on March 11th with family and friends.
Dodie was a "northern girl", born in Haileybury, Ontario in 1919. She is predeceased by her husband Stew, her sister Honey Woolley, and her brother Murray Summers. She is survived by her sisters-in-law Peg Borders and Wanda Saunders as well as her many nieces and nephews.
Dodie will be remembered with love and a smile by her daughters Molly and Kathy.
She was an avid bridge player with a wonderful sense of humour and against all odds continued to cheer on the Leafs. Dodie will miss the many good friends she made over the years.
Cheers to a grand slam life.
A memorial service will be held to celebrate Dodie's life on Friday April 4th from 3pm to 5pm at The Toronto Cricket Club, 141 Wilson Avenue, Toronto. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Rotary Cheshire Homes (for people who are deaf-blind) 101 - 422 Willowdale Avenue, Toronto, ON M2N 5B1 or to a charity of your choice.
