Passed away peacefully at York Central Hospital Monday November 28th, 2011 at the age of 90. Doug is survived by his loving wife Jean, daughter Elizabeth & son-in-law Wayne, son Wesley & daughter-in-law Meribeth, grandchildren Alison, Drew & Leyland, & great-grandchildren Victoria & Mitchell, & extended family Nick, Kelli & Alyssa. Doug was a proud WWII Veteran of the 23rd Field Regiment R.C. Artillary. Doug was also a proud member of the Free Masons - Ulster Lodge and a 40 year member & Property Manager of the T.T.C. In his retirement years, with his wife, Jean, he enjoyed world travel and many summers at the family cottage on Bird Lake. Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 1, 2011 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at the R.S. Kane Funeral Home (6150 Yonge Street, at Goulding, south of Steeles). A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, December 2, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel. Interment York Cemetery.
