Eileen Simon

Eileen Simon of Thornhill, Ontario went peacefully to be with her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ early Saturday morning on November 15th, 2025, at Mackenzie Health Hospital in Richmond Hill, Ontario while in the care of family members and medical staff.

Eileen had a rewarding career as a nurse spanning over 50 years. Her nursing experience began in Guyana South America in the 1950s and continued in England and Canada. She diligently served in various domains of her nursing practice. Even after her retirement for more than three decades, she remained a storehouse of medical knowledge. Her sound advice on health matters was greatly appreciated by family members and her friends who frequently consulted with her regarding health concerns.

As our only surviving aunt, she played an integral part in family affairs and gave to us her unwavering support. We were truly blessed to have her in our lives. She is predeceased by her parents Edward and Kathleen Simon, all of her siblings and 20 nephews and nieces.

She has left to mourn her sister-in-law Iris Simon (Uk) and a host of nephews, nieces, great-nephews and great nieces in Guyana, England, Canada and the USA such as Colleen Martin-Simon, Cheryl Adams, Carmen Freeman, Sylvan Simon, Yvette Huntley, Pam Simon, and Sydney Martin, just to name a few. She will also be missed by her many cousins, dear friends and her church family.

The family would like to thank all her caregivers who actively participated in her care, especially her private in-home caregivers and those from the agency, her pastor, and her numerous friends who visited and made many phone calls to her.

Visitation will be held at Kane Jerrett Funeral Home on Friday, December 5, 2025, from 2 - 4pm and from 6 - 8pm, located at 8088 Young Street, Thornhill, ON. L4J 1W3.

The Funeral Service will take place at Thornhill Baptist Church, 8018 Young Street, Thornhill, Ont.L3T 2C5. On Saturday, December 6, 2025: 905 889 0679
