Emerson Daniel Cepelak, age 29, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on June 12, 2026. Born on April 4, 1997, Emerson brought an unforgettable warmth, energy, and light into the world. In his 29 years, he made a profound impact on everyone fortunate enough to know him. He was a young man defined by his kind heart, steadfast loyalty, and a vibrant spirit that left a lasting impression on friends and family alike. Emerson was building a successful future in the plumbing industry. He took great pride in his craft and was actively completing his certification to become a certified plumber. His skill and generosity went hand-in-hand; Emerson was always the first to step up and help his family with any plumbing needs, never hesitating to lend his expertise. Outside of work, Emerson had a deep passion for food. He loved to cook, with his absolute specialty being a perfectly prepared, good steak dinner. He and his beloved partner, Alice, shared a love for culinary adventures, finding immense joy in cooking together at home and exploring new restaurants. His tragic and untimely departure leaves a void that can never be filled, but his memory and generous spirit will be fiercely cherished forever. Emerson is deeply loved and survived by his devoted family: his parents, Peter Cepelak (and his partner Lisa) and Joanne Swiderski (and her husband Mark); his brother, Noah Cepelak (and his girlfriend Sophie); his grandmother, Irene Swiderski (Babi); and his partner, Alice. He is also survived by his aunt Liz Smit and her husband Peter; his uncle, Ed Swiderski; his cousin Taylor (and her husband Robby and their son Cameron (Cammy)); his cousin Erin (and her fiancé Tyler); his aunt Kathy Cepelak-Clunis (and her husband Jason); his cousin Sydney; and a wide circle of extended relatives, coworkers, and lifelong friends who loved him dearly.
A private family viewing will be held on Friday, June 19, 2026. A Celebration of Life to honor Emerson’s memory will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Emerson's memory to the Renascent Treatment Centre (Paul J Sullivan house).
