Helen Margaret Barr

August 25, 1925 - February 8, 2014

Passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family. She was 88 years old. Survived by her loving husband of 65 years plus 3 years of courtship, Robert Marshall Barr, 3 loving daughters, 3 devoted son-in-laws, Janis Barr McElmurry, (Neal McElmurry), Sharon Barr, (Mark Kuhlmann), Carolann Barr (Rob Morgan), and 4 admiring grandchildren, Nelson McElmurry, Chris McElmurry, Danielle Muise, and Robyn Muise.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lila Jepson (nee Johnston) and Harold Jepson, her cousin Dr. Earl Collard and grandson Jamieson Kuhlmann.

Born and raised in Toronto, Helen met the love of her life, Robert Barr, and they were married October 23, 1948.

Helen will be remembered for her love of family, her inspirational values and her strong faith and love for Jesus Christ and the belief of his soon return. She loved to travel, was an accomplished artist, and had an impeccable sense of style. She will be remembered for her remarkable sense of humour right up until her passing.

A celebration of Helen's life will be held at Kane Funeral Home, 6150 Yonge St. (at Goulding south of Steeles) on Thursday February 13, 2014, viewing at 10am, service at 11am. Private interment will follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations would be most appreciated to mom's choice of charities, ADRA Canada (Adventist Development & Relief Agency) and Raising the Roof.
