It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Mom and Nana, Helen Clark who passed away peacefully at the age of 88 on October 25th, 2025 surrounded by her loving family, Lynette (Glen), Marilyn (Dave), and Carolyn (Doug), and her seven grandchildren, Matthew, Nicholas, Nicole, Connor, Andrew, Alicia and Adam.
She was predeceased by her sister, Jean Cunningham (Joe) and is survived by her younger brother, Lloyd Heard (Donna). She is also survived by her niece and nephews.
Helen was born and raised in Port Hope, Ontario. She moved to Toronto in 1956 to begin her nursing career at the Grace Maternity Hospital. She met the love of her life, the late Edward George Clark (Ted), in 1959. They were married in 1960 and enjoyed 37 wonderful years together before he passed in 1997.
Helen had a passion for sports, baking and travelling. She was a season ticket holder of the Toronto Blue Jays for 41 years and of the Toronto Maple Leafs for 20 years. She was a member of the Donalda Club for over 50 years, where she was an avid curler and bridge player.
Helen’s true passion was baking and entertaining. She could always be found in the kitchen making her famous chocolate chip cookies, Nanaimo bars, pies and cakes. She thrived when hosting and attending family gatherings with the Cunningham, Heard, Clark, and Wiles families and socializing with many other friends.
Helen travelled extensively throughout her life with Dad and with the family. She joined the Women’s Travel Network shortly after Dad’s passing, travelling throughout Europe.
Helen relished time with her family and she was the happiest when we were all together. She loved creating experiences and memories with her grandchildren. She treated them to Toronto Blue Jay games, Toronto Maple Leaf games, and many Ed Mirvish and Ross Petty plays. A family memory she held close to her heart was the Alaskan Disney Cruise in 2012.
The family is deeply grateful for the care and compassion from the staff at Delmanor Elgin Mills in Richmond Hill. Their support and loving care will never be forgotten.
Visitation will be on November 4th at the Kane- Jerrett Funeral Home in Thornhill (8088 Yonge St.). Funeral will be on November 5th at Jubilee United Church (40 Underhill Dr). A reception will be held immediately following the service.
