Peacefully, with family at her side, on Thursday January 22, 2009 at North York General Hospital in her 82nd year. Beloved wife of the late E. William "Billy" O'Connor (2001). Loving mother of Gary, Rick and his wife Karen and Lynne. Cherished "Gram" to Shay (Tony), Kyle and Shane and "Great-Gram" to Sierra and Marina. Survived by her dear brother Art Briggs. Irene will be missed and lovingly remembered by her many nieces and nephews family and friends.
Visitation, Sunday, January 25, 2009 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at the R.S. Kane Funeral Home (6150 Yonge Street, at Goulding, south of Steeles). Funeral service will be held at the R.S. Kane Chapel on Monday January 26, 2009 at 11 o'clock. Cremation to follow. Interment, Highland Memory Gardens in the spring of 2009. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the Salvation Army.
