

Survived by his lifelong loving partner and friend, Elisabeth Cseke. He was a wonderful, devoted stepfather to Enikő and Miklós Cseke, loving them completely as his own. Cherished brother to his two sisters Lucie and Céline Brouillette. He was born on June 19, 1954 in Plessisville, Quebec, to the late Robert and Jacqueline Brouillette.
Jean-Marie was a remarkably kind, soft-spoken, and gentle man. Throughout his life, he maintained an exceptionally positive outlook, never speaking a negative word and offering unwavering support to everyone around him. His generous spirit led him to volunteer often, dedicating his time and heart to many community organizations and churches. Professionally, Jean-Marie enjoyed a fulfilling career at Sears Canada Inc., where he utilized his talents as a skilled translator. More than just a dedicated employee, he was a deeply respected and well-appreciated presence in the workplace, loved by colleagues for his helpful nature and warmth.
For 30 beautiful years, Jean-Marie was devotedly by Elisabeth’s side. Their three decades together were defined by a sincere, everlasting love, creating a peaceful and deeply supportive relationship that will always be treasured. Jean-Marie adored Elisabeth, treating her with the utmost respect, tenderness, and devotion every single day. He brought immense light, warmth, and steady comfort into the lives of his family. His legacy will live on in our hearts and memories forever, and he will be dearly missed by all.
The family invites relatives and friends to share their memories of Jean-Marie during visitation and funeral service, held at the St. Theodore of Canterbury Church, 111 Cactus Ave, North York, Ontario, on Monday, June 29, 2026. Visitation will start at 10:00 am and finish at 11:00 am. The funeral service will start at 11:00 am, followed by a reception in the church basement around noon.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Jean-Marie may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the North Toronto Cat Rescue.
