

Jennifer Sheila Kachroo (nee Boutle), fondly known as ‘Jenny’, passed away peacefully with family and friends by her side, on January 29, 2025, at Scarborough Hospital – Birchmount Campus, after a hard-fought battle with cancer. Jenny was 80 years old.
Jenny is predeceased by her loving mother, Claire Emily Maud Boutle (2003) and devoted husband, Hira Lal Kachroo (2019). She leaves behind her only child, Arun Michael (Trisha), two grandchildren Kaden and Mikayla, along with many cousins, nieces and nephews, that span the globe.
Jenny was born on May 8, 1944, in Watford, England and was the only daughter of Henry and Claire Boutle. After losing her father at the age of 5, Jenny was raised solely by her mother. After attending boarding school, she pursued a career in nursing, attending and practicing at Great Ormand Street Hospital for Children, which is where her love of paediatrics began. At the age of 23, Jenny moved to Canada, where she met her husband, Lal, settled into a nursing career, which was primary practiced at Princess Margaret Hospital and started her family.
Jenny had a huge heart, which was felt by many worldwide. For those that knew her, they know she was a warm, kind and welcoming woman. She was a bright beam of light to the many lives and hearts she touched. Jenny had many loves, aside from her family and friends, which included classical music, gardening, knitting and traveling,
The family would like to thanks to the healthcare professionals at Scarborough Health Network, as well as Sunnybrook and Princess Margaret Hospitals for the exceptional care they provided to Jenny and for all their support, over the years.
Service to celebrate Jenny’s life will be held on Thursday February 6, 2025, at Kane-Jerrett Funeral Homes, 8088 Yonge St, Thornhill, ON L4J 6W6.
Visitation: 12:30pm
Funeral: 1:30pm
Reception will be held after service
Cremation to occur at a later date
