Beloved husband of Joan for 57 years. Loving father of Peter (Diana), Laurie (Jeffrey Wanamaker), Richard (Bushra) and Leslie (Jim Layeux). Dear grandpa of Sarah, Drew, Ben, John, Mary, Lauren and Summer. Sadly missed by sister Jean (Paul Evans) and family, and by Lucy. John was a long-time partner of Clarkson Gordon, Ernst and Young, then VP Finance Ontario Teachers Pension Plan, and an active volunteer for numerous charities. He will miss his cottage at Kennisis Lake where he found time to relax.
A Memorial Gathering will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2013 from 3-6pm at R.S. Kane Funeral Home, 6150 Yonge St. (at Goulding south of Steeles). In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimers Society.
