Dear Elaine and family, Very sad to hear that 'Aunt' Josie passed away. I am not one to usually commit such things to writing and I'm sure you remember me only as a brief visitor to Canada several years ago. However, the sad news made me stop to think back for an extended period - not in sadness but actually in pure happiness. Your Mother was a princess of a woman. A special one. My short time and brief visits with her were all about laughter, smart wit and warm humour. I will always think of her only with a smile.

Dear Elaine Tom and James---We are deeply sorry for the loss that you have suffered.Your mom was a great friend and a fantastic neighbour for almost twenty years she was even more than that for me,almost like a second mother really. I am sorry that I didn't make it to the service I haven't been feeling to well in the last few days.I thought about her lots and we said a prayer for her and all of you.I have lots of good memories of your mom. I still remember like it was yesterday when your mom would walk by my house on Sentinel..on her way home from work...Id ask her to sit and have a drink and chat...and occationally she would...and we would have some chuckles...I can still visualize your moms smile and laugh... Dear James, Elaine, Thomas and families. It is so hard to lose a mum but take some comfort knowing that her pain is over and she is now at peace. I have fond memories of Josie when we were young and carefree in the fifties. Also when I visited Toronto in 1995, we spent a happy day at the races and shared a fun evening meal together at the Armadillo restaurant. I will pray for you all, love Auntie Dot and Uncle Dave. I’m sorry for your loss of your Mother after reading of it in the newspaper. When you lose someone you love, the pain and grief can seem unbearable. As one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, I draw comfort in the Holy Scriptures where God promises in the future, “he will wipe out tears from their eyes and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore.” (Revelation 21:4) As well, the Bible assures us that at death, our loved ones are “conscious of nothing at all”, no longer suffering due to the ill effects of old age or sickness. (Ecclesiastes 9:5) Please be assured that our loving Creator cares for you and may you find comfort in his promises.

I am so sad to hear the news today about Auntie Josie, and wanted to let you all know I am thinking about you at this very difficult time. I have the happiest memories of Auntie Josie - lovely days out with her when I visited on holiday. Only last night I was looking at photos of her during a meal with Mum & I, drinking Margheritas and laughing at the restaurant staff who were dancing for us. Other pictures of her out on a pedalo boat with her sister when we all visited at the same time... always having fun! I have memories of a lovely lady, kind and fun to be with... We are so sorry to hear about Aunty Josie, my eyes are filled with tears as I write this. Words cannot alone express how sorry we are to hear this sad news. Aunty Josie was a wonderful Mother and a great friend and I know you will all miss her terribly. My prayers, my thoughts, my tears, my heart, go out to you all. I have lots of great memories of Aunty Josie; she was great when I stayed with you all as a stroppy 16 year old and helped make my holiday such a memorable one, even arranging a date for the Sweetheart Swirl!! Then three years later she supported me as a love sick teenager just wanting my holiday to end so I could go home to Colin. Colin and I have shared a lot of laughs with Aunty Josie and in a few countries too, Canada, England and Wales. Colin too has lots of memories of Aunty Josie especially the one where he was given a clip around the ear by her for causing me to whinge to go home for three weeks, some 10 years or so earlier! Dear Elain, Jimmy,Tom and families It was desperately sad and painful to hear that Aunt Josie, your lovely mum had passed away, my heart goes out to you all and to all those who knew her. I have some lovely memories of our time together - playing practical jokes on the other sister or sharing a cheeky grin knowing that they disapproved I have some wonderful photos of the time we spent here in Wales checking out the souvenirs shops in Betws Y Coed or drinking tea and eating Bara Breth cake in Llandudno - precious memories for sure. Then the funny times we shared in Trinidad - i will never forget the time your mum caught a sun burn on her face and proceeded to cool it off with cucumbers - i often laugh at that one the photo is priceless. And of course the couple or more times we visited you all in Toronto - we had such a laugh on the shopping trip to the states [that never happened] crossing the border at Bangor - remember that one? Some crazy times we all had in those youthful days with alcohol and before the children came along - your mum put up with us and laughed along what a wonderful lady she was - we will miss her dearly.
