Joy Austin

She was the beloved parent of Diane Matthews, Mark and Elvin Stewart; and the loving, gentle and generous grandmother of Shoronda & Kayla Matthews, Christoff, Sydney, and Zain Stewart. Joy was the aunt of 32 nephews and nieces, great-aunt of 38 nieces & nephews, and great-great aunt of 1 nephew. She is survived by her siblings: Chloe Isaacs, and Isaac, Joseph, Pamela, and Alfred Austin.

Joy's family and friends were received at R. S. Kane Funeral Home, 6150 Yonge St, Toronto on Friday, October 10, 2014 for visitation. Funeral service in celebration of her life was held at St. Anne's Anglican Church, Gladstone Ave, Toronto on Saturday, October 11, 2014. Interment following the funeral service for this beautiful person was done at York Cemetery, 160 Beecroft Rd, North York.

Thank you to the staff at Kensington Hospice who offered Joy and her children tender care and kindness every one of the twelve days she spent there. A special thank you is sent to her church family for helping her children through the period of their bereavement.

An exceptional mother, grandmother, sibling, aunt, and a good friend of many, Joy will be missed.

Her legacy to those who had the pleasure of knowing her is her—unwavering, and unconditional LOVE.
