Katharine (Kathi) Ellen Riley

(1951-2025)

With hearts full of love and faith in God’s promise of eternal life, the family of Katharine (Kathi) Ellen Riley (nee: White) announces her peaceful passing on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at the age of 74.

Surrounded by her family and upheld by prayer, Kathi was called home to the Lord after a courageous journey with illness - one marked by grace, strength, and unwavering trust in God.

She will be forever cherished by her devoted husband, Kenneth (Ken) Riley, with whom she shared a lifetime of love, laughter, and steadfast companionship. Together they built a home where faith was lived daily and family was the greatest blessing.

Kathi was the proud and loving mother of Simon Riley and his wife Frances (children: Alyssa, Mark, Caelan and Neala); Andrew Riley and his wife Kate (children: Ireland and Justice); and Matthew Riley and his partner Celine. Her children and grandchildren were her greatest joy - each one held closely in her heart and prayers.

She is deeply missed by her father, Percy White, age 99, whose love and example shaped her generous spirit; her sister Irene Davies and her husband Ray; her sister Robin White and her husband Pat; her sister Lorraine White and her husband John; and her brother David White and his wife Anita. She was a loving sister, aunt, and friend whose kindness and faith touched all who knew her.

Kathi’s life was a reflection of her faith, lived out through her compassion, her humility, and her quiet acts of service. She saw Christ in others and shared His love through the way she listened, encouraged, and cared. Whether in her garden, at her parish, or gathered with family, her presence was a source of peace and joy.

Her family takes comfort in knowing that her suffering has ended and that she now rests in the eternal embrace of her Saviour. Though her absence leaves a deep ache, we rejoice in the promise that love never ends and that we will be reunited again in God’s heavenly kingdom.

Friends and family are invited to the visitation at the Kane Jerrett Funeral Home - Thornhill, 8088 Yonge Street, Thornhill on Sunday, November 9th, 2025, from 4-7 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the Kane-Jerrett Funeral Home - Thornhill on Monday, November 10th, 2025 at 11 a.m.
