Passed away on Friday, May 2, 2014 at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre at the age of 77 after a brave battle with ALS. Beloved husband of Gwen. Loving father of David and Andrea (Anthony Hanmer). Devoted Poppa to Ethan, Zoey and Amelia. Dear brother of Doug, Jean (Pat Blythe), Jim, Cathy, Karen and the late Jerry (Bernie). He will be remembered for his kindness, his faith in God and the positive outlook he had on life. Friends may call on Tuesday, May 6, 2014 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the R.S. Kane Funeral Home (6150 Yonge Street, at Goulding, south of Steeles). A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Gabriel's Parish (670 Sheppard Avenue East). Interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the ALS Society or Charity of Choice.
