November 24, 1936 - December 24, 2018
Ken was born to Officer parents, Brigadiers Ken & Ruth Graham on November 24, 1936 in Woodstock, New Brunswick. On their pastoral journey, Ken lived in numerous places across Canada and discovered individuals who landmarked his life.
At a very young age, he began playing the cornet and committed his life to Christ at the age of 13 - a decision that has remained steadfast throughout his life. While his parents were stationed in Belleville he was deeply influenced by a Godly man, Jack Green, who etched into his mind "pray before you play". His 67 years as a musician, became his ministry, also tutoring young people for most of those years. Ken held positions of YP Treasurer, YP Band Leader, Deputy Bandmaster, Songster and served in the Canadian Staff Band.
When Ken moved to Toronto, he was later to meet and marry the love of his life, Joan Brethour, while both were attending the Wychwood Corps, and lived to celebrate 52 years of marriage.
The deepest joy of his life were the birth of his children Kenneth Charles and Amy Ruth Marion Hazel. And then to add Deanne Elizabeth Pugh to the family was a bonus, followed by his precious grandchildren, Joshua Kenneth and Myah Bethany. They all were the light of his life!
Ken is lovingly remembered by family in the west, cousins in the United States, Corps, family and friends.
Well done good and faithful servant...rest in the love of your Lord.
