Dear Leland,
It is so difficult and sad to know that you are no longer with us. We will forever miss your many weekend visits to Port Perry (pre Covid). We have so many fond memories of our times spent that include great conversations & laughter, dinners, fishing, a few boat rides, and the odd ice cream excursion. I know you loved your cousin 'Mez's' Guyanese cooking but we know you also loved the freedom of country living by the water. You could relax, have a few drinks, and then get up the next morning for some fishing with Mez or just sleep in. You always said Port Perry reminded you of your time in Eganville. We are so glad you could spend time with us and I feel fortunate to have gotten to know you over the past 5 years. You were such a kind and gentle soul and so easy to be around. We will really miss you, Leland!
Love, Dianne and Your Cuz 'Mez'

Ann and I were surely saddened by the news of Leland's passing and were thankful for the opportunity to pay our respects virtually. The words and memories that were shared so passionately and lovingly were very comforting and brought back some very happy memories. The personalities and the characters of each Munro family member that paid tribute to Leland's life shone brightly through their sentiments and described a good man. The references to Eganville, and having the privilege of growing up with the Munro family is something that I will always cherish - they were wonderful times. I think of all the road hockey games, the football games in the back field, the volleyball games in the back yard and sledding down the side of Mr. and Mrs. Munro's house are some of the best memories of my early years. And the descriptions of Leland in his adult years as a funny, joyful, humble, gentle, caring and thoughtful person is clearly the Leland I remember from long ago. I surmise that there was also a tiny sprinkle of mischief that I am sure he learned from his big brothers throughout the years. May God take Leland into his loving arms and care for him until we have the opportunity to meet once again. Our sincere condolences to the Munro family and to all those that had the pleasure of calling Leland a friend. Stay safe and well,
Kevin and Ann Mallory

My dearest nephew Leland,

I cannot believe that I have today watched you laid to rest, my eldest brother's youngest son, oh how my heart hurts
You were the best of all that is Munro - joyful, a joker, and you always had time for family. I will miss your daily FB messages.
Love you nephew, aunty Molly.

Leland, meeting you the first time felt like it was the 1,000th time. You couldn't meet a more genuinely welcoming person, and you kept in touch. Literally the nicest guy. You will never stop being missed, Tony.

Cuz, you are the first of our generation to go to meet the ancestors and it feels so wrong that the loveliest of us should be the first to go. I have had so many phone calls from your side of the Pond asking me if it is true, and I kept thinking that if you were here they would be calling you, the connector of us all.
You are so missed. Love you.
