In Sweet Loving Memory

After long term struggle with heart failure, passed away at home with daughter and son-in-law by her side on Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at age 94 years, and finally joined with her late husband Philip Fung (September 1, 1994).

Born in Kuala Lumper, Malaysia, to Shui Soi Cheong and Yeen Dung Cheow. Dear mother of eldest son and wife Stephen and Lily of Taiwan, son and wife Stanley and Lanching of Taiwan, and daughter and son-in-law Catalina and Tim of Toronto. Loving grandma of grandsons Pablo and wife Eva, Philip and Muojen of Taiwan, Douglas Liszt and wife Adela of Toronto. Greatest fan with amazing love to great-granddaughter Luna Lilifina of Toronto.

In the late 40s, mom was studying medicine and interrupted by war and later became a Christian completed her bachelor study of Theology in Hong Kong and became a kindergarten teacher. After becoming a mother, she then has devoted her whole heart and life to be the solid foundation of our family. A most loving, sweet, considerate, forgiving and amazing wife and mother who was never short of kindness of generosity.

A viewing of Lily’s will be held on Sunday, April 4, 2021, at 4:00 PM. Due to COVID-19 lockdown restrictions, only immediate family will be in attendance.

In lieu of flowers, Lily hoped memorial donations be made to either Toronto Chinese Methodist Church or the charity organization Operation Smile Canada.

Profoundly saddened by mom’s passing, we are greatly comforted that mom is rid of all the suffering and pain and now joyfully rejoined with our beloved dad and our Lord in heaven. She is missed by many and will be always in our hearts.

Dear 馮師母,
I have known you since the day you immigrated to Canada and if I was not mistaken, it should be 1987! Back then, your family and 舜 lived in the same apartment and we shared lots of fond memories with you, Rev. Fung, and Catalina! Rev. Fung loved to eat and drink beer and had a sweet tooth. He would always call up 舜 to spend time together to chat, laugh and eat! 師母, you had the most gentle and kind soul. You would give all of your love and support to Rev. Fung and the church congregations and you are the unsung hero! Your wholehearted and unconditional love for your family was witnessed through the love you received from your children and grandchildren! Your life is a blessing to others! You are now with our Heavenly Father in eternity and reunite with Rev. Fung, family and friends. You will be dearly missed but one day, we will meet again!

Lots of love,
Mona
