Lina Bellissimo

With deep sorrow and profound love, we announce the passing of Adelina “Lina” Bellissimo on April 29, 2025, at the age of 74.

Lina was born on October 26, 1950, in Pietrabbondante, a charming town nestled in the rolling hills of Molise, Campobasso, Italy. She was the beloved daughter of Enrico and Amerina Di Salvo and the devoted older sister of Gennarino “Rino” Di Salvo.

In 1955, Lina’s father immigrated to Canada in search of a better future for his family. At the age of 9, Lina, accompanied by her mother and younger brother journeyed across the Atlantic Ocean aboard the ship Saturnia. They arrived at Pier 21 in Halifax on January 10, 1959, where they were joyfully reunited with her father and began a new life in Canada.

Lina embraced her new home and country with strength, resilience, and grace. She learned English, pursued her education, and adapted to her new surroundings while remaining deeply connected to her Italian roots. Known for her elegance, creativity, and profound entrepreneurial spirit, Lina had a natural flair for fashion and a remarkable ability to turn vision into reality.

At 18, she met the love of her life Lorenzo Bellissimo. Together, they built a life grounded in love and family. Married for 51 years, Lina was a devoted and proud mother to her four children: Laura Bellissimo-Greco, Pamela Bellissimo-Chimenti, Adam Bellissimo, and Krista Bellissimo-Maggiacomo. Her greatest joy came from her family, especially in her later years, as a loving and doting Nana to her cherished grandchildren: Victoria, Isabella, David, Vienna, Adrian, and Gabriella.

Lina will be remembered for her warmth, wisdom, strong faith, and the love she poured into every aspect of her life. She was the heart and soul of her family—a source of unwavering support, wise counsel, and unconditional love.

She leaves behind a legacy of strength, resilience, and kindness that will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
