Sad to hear about Louis, and my sympathies to Pamela and their children.
Remember him in Bombay, as the shop the Ramos owned, was close to where I stayed.  I remember being at his wedding in Bombay.  Louis was jovial, and talks with him sparkled with a little humour.
Remember going to his house one day, as I was just passing by the locality.
For many years, I didn't meet him, and I feel very sorry now.

When Louis Ramos died peacefully on Sunday, August 20th at the age of 78, allowed to exit with the quiet dignity that was a central theme of his life, we mourn the passing of a cherished, well loved and highly respected family man.

Louis emanated presence, the quality of strength wihout arrogance.
We had the privilige of savouring many times, in many places, the quiet strength of his individuality, the dry humour, his gracious, unaffected courtesy. 

His was a life was lived with compassion, integrity and understanding.

We are so sorry to hear about Louis. We first met him in Goa when he came on holiday to Saligao and lived two doors down from us. Our paths crossed occasionally and it was always warm heartfelt.
