

Suddenly, with family near by, on Thursday December 25th, 2008 at St. Michael's Hospital, in her 87th year. Beloved wife of the late Donald James Robinson (2006). Loving and devoted mother of John David (the late Carol Robinson) and Paul Richard. Doting "Grandma" to Lyndsee (John) and Sasha (Paul). Lucy will be missed and lovingly remembered by her family and friends across Canada as well as overseas.
Lucy was born in Perdue, Saskatchewan and raised on a farm just outside of Dauphin, Manitoba. She attended and obtained her teaching certificate at the Brandon Manitoba Normal School in 1941. While teaching at various rural Manitoba schools, she met and married Donald James while he was serving in the RCAF. In 1947 Lucy came to Ontario and started her teaching career in North York where she taught public school as well as becoming an art supervisor. Lucy sucessfully completed a 45 year career as a teacher. After her retirement, she devoted many hours of volunteer work at Care Free Lodge, Retired Teachers of Ontario and her church - Lansing United, North York. Lucy was an incredible lady and will be remembered fondly for her love, compassion, devotion and kindness. She has left us a strong legacy.
Family and friends may call on Friday, January 2nd, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the R.S. Kane Funeral Home (6150 Yonge Street, at Goulding, south of Steeles). Funeral service will be held at the R.S. Kane Chapel on Saturday, January 3, 2009 at 11 o'clock. Spring interment at Bethel Churchyard Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Alzheimer Society.
