Dear Pedro Cousins & families ~ My heart is sad & heavy with you as you mourn the passing of your Mother, 2nd parent, grandmother & great grandmother, my Auntie Daling. That she rests for now is a great blessing. As the Bible says she fought a good fight, finished the race, and awaits a crown when she awakes at the resurrection.  
What I remember about Auntie is that she was one of two people (the 2nd being Uncle, her husband) who called me by my FULL FIRST  name Leliroth, ALWAYS! I think they did this because they were around when I was born in the Philippines & at 11 months immigrated  to the US. By the time they arrived in Toronto I was away at school but every time we met I was Leliroth to her not Leli as I became know to other family & friends.  Auntie was a thrifty, generous, energetic person. I remember her selling vegetables from her garden & how much joy that brought her. A small but mighty woman & force in the family. 
She will be dearly missed as the last in her generational line in the Pedro family. Let us who remain as family & friends be faithful to the qualities of kindness, patience, hope & generosity she exemplified even when the going got rough. 
What soothes my heart at this time of grief  is this short thought from the writer, poet, & artist Kahlil  Gibran 
“When you are sorrowful look again in your heart, and you shall see that in truth you are weeping for that which has been your delight.“

Rest well Auntie.  Thanks for always being YOU! Condolence to the family & love & courage to all as we grieve, remember, & celebrate the life of Auntie
