

(nee Harper) It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Marjorie on Thursday, March 19th, 2009, in her 87th year, at North York General Hospital. Beloved wife for 31 years of Ted Platt who predeceased her in 1990. Daughter of Lily (McLachire) and Clark Harper. After graduating from the University of Toronto she became a member of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association on April 17, 1945, where she served on the National and Toronto board for twenty-five years. She started a private practice in 1955. After graduation she joined the Royal Canadian Air Force and worked with the Department of Veterans Affairs. During 1969 Marjorie became disabled with a neuro-muscular disorder. She joined the North York Advisory Committee for the Disabled, also contributing to the planning of the North York Performing Arts Centre and North York Barrier Free Access Policy. In 1992 she received the Ontario Community Action Award for her work on behalf of disabled people. She will be sorely missed. Visitation at the R.S. Kane Funeral Home, 6150 Yonge Street(at Goulding, south of Steeles), North York on Monday, March 23rd, 2009 from 10 to 11 a.m. Funeral service to follow at 11 a.m., then interment at Aurora Cemetery.
