Martha Powell

Peacefully, with family at her side, on Monday November 28th, 2005 at Scarborough Hospital - Grace Division, in her 76th year. Loving and devoted mother of Stephen and his wife Ann-Marie, and Geoff and his wife Sandra. Cherished 'Granny' of Amanda, Rachel, and Nicole. Martha used her energy and generosity to embrace her family and many friends. Martha will be missed dearly by all who knew her in Canada, the United Kingdom and Australia. During Martha's celebrated nursing career (Matron's Award upon graduation, Chairman's Award upon retirement) she touched the lives of many patients and their families. Her colleagues will remember a dedicated and compassionate paediatrics head nurse. Friends may call on Thursday, December 1st, from 6-9 p.m. at the R.S. Kane Funeral Home, (6150 Yonge Street, at Goulding, south of Steeles). Memorial Service will be held at the Chapel on Friday December 2nd, 2005 at 1 o'clock.                     Martha exressed her desire for recognition of the Palliative Care Unit at Scarborough Hospital - Grace Division or her favourite charity, The War Amps, in lieu of flowers.
