Passed away on Thursday, April 28, 2011 at Southlake Regional Health Centre in his 91st year. Beloved husband of the late Mikiko. Loving father of Cathy and her husband Ken Nakamura, Laura and her husband Steve Organ, and Art and his wife Lisa. Cherished "Gichan" to Kimberley (Matt), Kristen, Nichole (Ashley), Kelly, and Robyn and "Great-Gichan" to Dylan, Cole, and Wes. Matt will be missed and lovingly remembered by his family and friends. Visitation will be held on Sunday May 1, 2011 from 1 - 4 p.m. at the R.S. Kane Funeral Home (6150 Yonge Street, at Goulding, south of Steeles). Private family service. Interment, Mount Pleasant Cemetery at a later date. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre, the Toronto Buddhist Church or the Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre Foundation - Japan Earthquake Relief Fund.
