OBITUARY
Meribeth Anne Gerrie
27 July, 1961 – 18 February, 2021
It is with great sadness that we share the sudden passing of Meribeth Anne Gerrie (nee Cunningham) on February 18, 2021.
Meribeth was born in Toronto on July 27th, 1961 to Leo and the late Elizabeth (Betty Anne) Cunningham and she was the eldest of ‘the girls’.
She will be greatly missed by her partner of over 25 years Wisam (Sam) Raad. She was a devoted Mom to Michael Gerrie and ‘Ba’ will be deeply missed by her grandson, James. Being surrounded by these loved ones gave Meribeth her greatest joy in life.
Mere leaves behind sisters Alison Coville (Vic) and Charlene Miller (Jason) and was a proud Aunt to Tristan, Bailey, Madison, and Peyton. Auntie Mere was often the most beloved babysitter and creator of masterful birthday cakes.
She attended George Brown’s culinary program where she acquired a lifetime love of cooking and baking. Watching Coronation Street with Michael and spending time at cottages in Wasaga Beach and Campbellford will be some of her family’s fondest memories.
Meribeth’s family takes comfort knowing she will be at peace as she is reunited with Mom, Grandma Mom, Auntie Marg, Debbie, and baby Brandon.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
Her private funeral mass will be celebrated by Father Ed Murphy on a later date. Everyone is welcome to join us and witness the funeral mass via Livestream.

Meribeth was an amazing lady, a loving mom and a big part of our family for as long as I can remember.
Although she wasn’t with my brother (Bob) anymore, she was still always there. In our hearts and I know we were in hers. From the support she gave when our mom passed, to a check in call as recent as last week to both of us.
She was the strongest woman I know and if that means stubborn well, than she was that too.
She fought most of her adult life for herself and others. I have so many wonderful memories. They are all racing through my head. I can’t even begin to tell you. From the time she entered our family 40 yrs ago, we have had ups and downs, picnics, parties and friendship.
But I will always thank her for staying in our lives and as a sister to me.
Love you always
Bob, Lisa, Justin, Dan and Matt ❤️
