Muriel Emily Sturrock

Passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, on Monday March 8, 2010 in her 84th year at York Central Hospital in Richmond Hill, Ontario. Muriel was in the 63rd year of marriage to her beloved husband Calvin. Loving mother to Sheldon (Lisa), James Clayton (Kim) and Darrell (Julia). Proud and loving grandmother to Shelby, Linden, Matthew, James and Eli. Dear sister of James Wells and Dorothy Milton (Wells) and their spouses. Fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents John and Muriel Wells (Church). Muriel will be lovingly remembered by the extended Sturrock family and her many friends. In spite of Muriel's affliction with Parkinson's she never lost the ability to endear herself to others with her warm and friendly personality. Everyone will miss Muriel's smile, the glimmer in her eyes and her wonderful determination. A special thanks to the exceptional staff and caregivers at Leisureworld for their compassionate and dedicated care. A Memorial Gathering will be held on Sunday March 21, 2010 at the R.S. Kane Funeral Home (6150 Yonge St., at Goulding, south of Steeles) from 12-2 p.m. with tributes at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research would be greatly appreciated.
