

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Norma Cuevas, who departed this life at the age of 89, surrounded by her beloved family at Scarborough Centenary Hospital and is now reunited with her loving husband Agapito A. Cuevas, with whom she was married for 43 years.
Born to Lorenzo Zabat and Maria Amis, Norma immigrated to Canada in 1993, planting deep roots in the community she would call home for over 3 decades.
Norma had a remarkable gift for bringing people together. Her warmth, kindness, and ability to make others feel seen and valued will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
Devoted Mother to: Cynthia, Arnold (Vivian), Ronald, Richard (Maricel), Rhodora (Ted), Shirley, Jocelyn (Raul) & Elsie (Jimmy). She was the proud and doting grandmother to Riezl (Jason), Reineer, Kenneth, Rochelle, Roxanne (Dominic), Sean, Nathaniel, Rizzamarie, Jasper, Arnold Jr, Jade, Ellyjah, Jonathan & great grandmother to Theos & Kal who brought immeasurable joy to her life.
She will also be deeply missed by her siblings Mariquita del Rosario, Enrico Zabat, Danilo Zabat, Rolando Zabat, Mariquita Zabat Santos, Florante de Leon. Norma rejoins in eternity her siblings Julieta Mabini, Natividad Mabini, Nonilon Mabini, Renato Zabat, Edgardo Zabat, Deanna Zabat.
Norma's memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Her legacy of love, generosity, and unshakable family spirit will continue to shine brightly in all the lives she touched.
Family and friends may visit on Sunday, June 28, 2026, from 2pm-8pm at Kane-Jerrett Funeral Homes (8088 Yonge St. Thornhill).
Funeral service will take place in the chapel of funeral home on Monday, June 29, 2026, at 11am. Visitation will take place 1 hour prior to service.
Burial at Pine Ridge Memorial Gardens (1757 Church Street N.) in Ajax will follow services.
