
Peacefully at Union Villa December 1st, 2007 at the age of 83 surrounded by his family. Beloved and loving husband of 53 years to Carole. Devoted father of Peggy (and her husband Don), Mary ( and her husband Brian) and David (and his wife Karen). Loving brother of Bertie Tetaert and brother-in-law of Theresa Pitt. Harry was the proud grandfather of seven grandchildren: Jennifer, Diana, Christine, Karen, Ann-Marie, Meaghan and William. Predeceased by his sister Adele Carruthers.Harry was a W.W. II Veteran who served overseas with the R.C.A.F. (415 (Swordfish) Squadron-Flight Engineer on a Halifax Bomber) in Eastmoor, Yorkshire England and retired from the Metro Toronto Police Services with rank of Sergeant after 33 years. He loved his family, flying, music, woodworking and the fellowship of his friends at Thornhill United Church. A heart felt thank you to both Terrie and the team on the Union Mills wing of Union Villa for their exceptional care and compassion. Friends may call at the R. S. Kane Funeral Home, 6150 Yonge Street, at Goulding south of Steeles, from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm on Tuesday December 4 . Service at Thornhill United Church, 25 Elgin Street, Thornhill, on Wednesday December 5 at 10:00am. Private interment to follow. Memorial donations may be made to the Unionville Home Society or to the Alzheimer Society of York Region.
