I was attached to 33 Division in 1965 and it was here that I first met Bob. I read Bob's obituary yesterday and when it came to the mention of the cottage at Balsam Lake, I was taken back in time to perhaps 1966/67. As I recall Bob got the makings of the cottage from a small house demolished on I think,on Victoria Park Av, close to where you lived. We then loaded a trailer and took the dismantled walls to Balsam Lake where we raised them on your foundation. It was a cold chilly day but we enjoyed the work. Bob was a Policeman's policeman and I enjoyed working with him. You have my deepest sympathy, Yours sincerely Don Adams. Ex P.C. Sgt199 33 Div.

I worked with Bob in the early 1980's in the Detective Office at 51 Division (Cabbagetown). He was from the Old School of policing and expected you to do your job. He also enjoyed being one of the guys and had a wonderful laugh. I know his family was his life and he was always there for them. His passing is tragic but we will all remember the good memories as our sorrow subsides over time.

Two things come to mind when I think of Uncle Bob: his salt-of-the-earth nature, and his love of family. Uncle Bob always rose to the occasion whatever life dealt him and his family, he took steps to make it better. His love of family, and the ease by which he could strike up a conversation with everyone young and old, and show genuine interest in their lives, was something that I noticed from the time I was a small girl. I will take those qualities forward with me in life, as a tribute to Uncle Bob xoxo

Colleen and family... We were so sad to hear of Bob's passing. We have many fond memories of him walking over for a visit when we lived beside you on Millbank Rd. My sincerest condolences to the family. He was such a pleasure to speak with while waiting for his chiropractic treatment from Dr. Tom Isaacs. He often spoke of his family with tremendous pride and affection. He will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known him.

Norma, Robert, Larry, Colleen and Cheryl, as some of you know I moved in my house around October 8, 1983, Bob, Norna and Cheryl followed shortly after. Of all the original owners and those that came after, my friendship with Bob and Norma, from the very beginning was the strongest and it remains so to this day. Over the years we shared good and bad news. I often would tell Bob that his "stubbornness" and determination reminded me of my own father. I respected his wisdom and on many occasions I went to Bob for advise. He was always ready and willing to listen to what I had to say. At times of need he was always ready to help and likewise he knew that he could call on me for anything. I feel fortunate to have seen and spoken to Bob twice between May 30th (one day when Cheryl was taking him for a walk) and the last time on June 3rd when Colleen was with him on his driveway. I will miss him greatly. Condolences from my son Adam, who Bob was always nice to, my girlfriend Josy and especially from me.
