Russell will be missed and fondly remembered by his children Penny, Brad (Kathy), and Pam (Rob), his grandchildren, Tyler, Kyle (Aryana), and Matthew (Alondra) and great grandchildren Orla and Celeste. He also considered Vic and Wendy to be part of the family. He is predeceased by his wife Alberta and sons-in law Peter and Ben, Brother Leonard and Sister Dianne.
In 1964, with 2 children under the age of 4, Russell, with the support of his high school sweetheart, Alberta, took a chance and left his position as Produce Manager at Dominion Stores and ventured out on his own to create R. Neice Landscaping. He borrowed $2,000 from a friend to buy the business. He repaid his debt by selling his cherished 1962 Triumph TR4. Working as partners, Russell doing the labour and design work and Alberta doing the books and dealing with customers, they established a flourishing business.
Russell will always be remembered for his love for his family who he made every effort to be there for each one of them. He was a hardworking man who took pride in his work and demanded perfection for his customers. Regularly, working long hours and weekends. He couldn't have done it without the love and support of his wife Alberta and later his children.
He valued life's simple things such as sports, vintage cars, travelling, and relaxing in his pool.
Russell retired in 2019 at the age of 83 and devoted all of his time providing care for Alberta until she passed in 2025. Never has there been a greater romance story that included head butting but love always prevailed.
Russell was a quiet, generous man with a great sense of humor, often teasing friends and family, including Alberta. He kept his sense of humor until the end. Throughout his lifetime he developed many lifelong friendships, including many high school chums. He will be missed by all!
The family would like to thank the compassionate team of caregivers including Eusy, Janet, Catherine, Celine and Colleen. We couldn’t have done this journey without you.
