Loving wife of the late Tom Roberts. Beloved mother of George (Gwen), Tim (Laura) and Peter (Andrea). Loving Grandmother of Caitlin, Briana, Lauren, Hilary, Thomas and Tracey (Carm). Great grandmother of Joseph, Alyshia, Michael and Matthew. Treasured daughter of the late Clarence and Marie Sadler. Special sister of Bruce and John Sadler. Ruth was a pleasant and fun loving person with a kind word for everyone. She was born and raised in Oshawa, Ontario. She lived at the YWCA in Toronto while attending the University of Toronto studying dental nursing. Ruth graduated from the University of Toronto in 1944 and worked as a dental nurse for Dr. McLeod at College and Yonge St. in Toronto. She left dental nursing to have a family in 1951. The connection with the YWCA remained strong and she volunteered there for many years. Ruth also volunteered for many years at Sunnybrook Hospital with her dear friends Violet Hanes and Clare McKeown. She was active Christian all of her life and for many years a member at Willowdale United Church and then at Thornhill United Church. Ruth will be fondly remembered for her great cooking, especially her chili sauce, butter tarts, and apple pies! She had a great love for the outdoors and liked nothing better than to go for a walk.
