

After a seventeen month long fight with cancer, peacefully passed away on October 6, 2015, while surrounded by family at North York General Hospital. He was the loving husband to Petronia Martinez, loving father to his six children, and gracious grandfather to his eleven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Born in Pozurobio, Pangasinan, Philippines to Ignacia Itliong and Pedro Martinez, he attended University of Baguio. At the age of 21, he joined the U.S. Navy and served as a Master Sergeant. Following his time in the Navy, he and his family immigrated to Toronto, Ontario, where he was employed at Xerox for many years until retirment.
Salvador will be remembered for his natural ability to charm all those whom he met, his talent for story-telling, his natural green thumb, his love of fishing and sports, his remarkable sense of humour, his incredible spirit, and most of all, his embodiment of strength, resilience, and perseverance.
The viewing will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2015 from 5:00pm-9:00pm at R.S. Kane Funeral Home, 6150 Yonge St. (at Goulding, south of Steeles) North York, Ontario.
