Died at Toronto East General Hospital on Sunday May 17, 2009 from complications arising after cancer surgery. She was 73 years of age and in her sixth year of Life Profession in the Sisterhood. Peta-Ann joined the Sisterhood in 1996 after retiring from teaching and raising her children as a single mother. She is preceded by her husband Victor Jackson, her daughter Tammy-Lou Jackson and her parents Muffet and Edwin McGowan. She is survived by her children Kerri-Lee and Ken Schmuland, Victor Jackson and her grandchildren Janelle Turgeon and Joe Diemert, Tamara Turgeon and Don Cunningham, Palmer-Lewis Jackson and her great grandson Kashton Diemert. Lovingly remembered by her siblings B.G.(ret) Stewart and Paddy McGowan, Kim McGowan and Dawna Desrosier, Robyn and Ian Whitbread, Jay and Sandra McGowan.
Visitation on Friday, May 22, 2009 from 7-9 pm at St. John's Convent, 233 Cummer Avenue, Toronto. A Funeral followed by a reception will be held on Saturday, May 23, 2009 at 11 am at St. John's Convent. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sisterhood of St. John the Divine or Charity of Choice.
