Sylvester Peter de Silva

Surrounded by his family, Sylvester Peter de Silva passed away peacefully after a long illness at The Scarborough Hospital on April 18th, 2012 at the age of 59. Sylvester, son of the late Edward and Anastasia de Silva, is survived by his adoring wife Cleonie and his beloved sons Daniel and Spencer. He also leaves behind his sisters, brothers, in-laws, nieces, nephews and many close friends. Sylvester was a devoted husband and loving father. He was a gifted singer and guitarist who shared his passion for music with all he met. An avid outdoorsman, he passed on his love for nature to his sons. He was a wonderful cook and a playful spirit who never lost his inner child. His smile was contagious and he brought joy and laughter to everyone blessed to have him in their lives. Friends may call on Friday, April 20, 2012 from 6-9 p.m. at the R.S. Kane Funeral Home (6150 Yonge Street, at Goulding, south of Steeles). A Catholic Mass will be held on Saturday, April 21, 2012 at 9:30 a.m. at Epiphany of Our Lord Catholic Church (3200 Pharmacy Avenue). Interment to follow at Christ The King Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
