Ugo Dell'Agnese

On April 22, 2012, while resting peacefully in the home he built, our beloved Ugo met his everlasting sleep at the age of 97. Dedicated husband and dance partner of the late Gemma Tonelli for 60 glorious years. Loving father of Linda (Tony Patullo), Vanda (John Hodkinson), Norma, and Rino (Manuela Poli). "Nonno Ugo" to David, Richard, Patrick and Tina. Bisnonno to three. Brother to Rina and the late Rino, Dino, and Dina. Special thanks to his devoted caregiver Leizl Ventura for her compassionate, committed and loving care in his final years. Born in Castelnuovo del Friuli, Italy, Ugo emigrated to Toronto at the age of 18, worked hard to achieve a contented life, and was wise enough to appreciate it. Proud of his Friulan culture, he had been an active participant at the Famee Furlane, an innovative costume maker for Carnevale, with a passion for singing, hunting, fishing, gardening and bocce. His strong will and vitality, remarkable in his 90's, lives forever as an inspiration to us all. Friends may call on Wednesday, April 25th from 2-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. at the R.S. Kane Funeral Home (6150 Yonge St., south of Steeles). Mass will be held on Thursday, April 26th at 10 a.m. at Blessed Trinity Church (3220 Bayview Ave., north of Finch Ave). Interment Mount Hope Cemetery.
