On behalf of our De Vera- Bongato family, it is with great sorrow to inform you that our dear, loving, strong and beautiful Matriarch Virginia De Vera Bongato passed peacefully on November 27, 2021, at North York General Hospital, Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
She will be greatly missed by us, her children: Myrna Joy Bongato Maiquez (Jimmy Maiquez), Judith Bongato Walsiyen (Leo Walsiyen), John Bongato (Virginia Perez-Bongato), Bienvenido Bongato Jr; her Grandchildren: Mayhazel Joy B. Maiquez-Tai (Michael Tai), Mark B. Maiquez, Jimson Myron B. Maiquez, Kevin Julo B. Walsiyen (Aileen Baluyut Walsiyen), Janssen Bien B. Walsiyen, Julian Russell B. Walsiyen, Bienvenido Abbagu Bongato III (Anna Le Bongato), Randell Jon Abbagu Bongato, Gabriel John Perez Bongato; and her Great Grandchildren: Mikhaela Joy Maiquez Tai, Ryker Charles Maiquez Tai, Kairos Jim Maiquez Tai, and Aria Jordan Baluyut Walsiyen.
Although we are heartbroken, we humbly praise and thank God for Mommy’s 87 blessed years here on earth- a life filled with lots of love, family, friends, memories, hope and faith.
We will forever miss you, Mommy. We can only strive to be just as selfless, thoughtful and caring to everyone around as you have, and we are proud to be called your children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Our family would like to express our deep thanks for the constant and abundant love and care from Pastor Gerry Pasikatan, Pastor Charles Ojano, Pastor Edwin Martin, Pastor Irejohn Echavez and Pastor Daniel Catangay throughout the years, especially during this time.
We would also like to extend our appreciation to the staff at North York General Hospital for their compassionate care.
A private service will be held for the family on Friday, December 3rd, 2021.
Interment (OPEN TO EVERYONE) will be on December 3rd, 2021 @ 2:45 pm at New Westminster Cemetery: 5830 Bathurst St, North York, ON.
