Bill was born in Hafford, Saskatchewan but grew up in Toronto and Goderich, attending Bedford Park P.S, Lawrence Park Collegiate and Goderich Collegiate. After high school, Bill pursued accounting and business courses at Queen’s University to become a Chartered Accountant. He started off in his own practice and a few years later became a partner with a medium size firm. (Grant Thornton). After years of distinguished service to the profession, Bill was elected a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants.
Bill lived a happy and rich life. He loved travelling with Beverley, spending summers at the cottage, cross country skiing, trying new restaurants, going to the theatre, and getting together with his Trident club friends of 60+ years. Humble and unassuming, he was strong in his faith and steadfast in his values. He always tried to make the world a better place for those around him and was generous in his kindness, comfort, and support of those who knew him.
A Celebration of Life service will take place at Thornhill Presbyterian Church at 1:30pm on Saturday October 15th @ 271 Centre Street, Thornhill L4J 1G5. He may be remembered with a donation to Presbyterian World Service and Development (50 Wynford Drive, Toronto M3C 1J7) or to a charity of your choice with all donations greatly appreciated by his family.
