Born April 3rd,1932 in Walsenberg, Colorado, to Pedro Villalovos and Laura Archuleta as the 7th of eleven children, Alberta spent her earliest years in Huerfano County in Southern Colorado. As a child, her family moved to Rocky Ford, Colorado, where she was an honor roll student and proud Meloneer of Rocky Ford High School in the Class of 1950.
Alberta married Felix J. Klement in 1950, and enjoyed 49 years nurturing a family that includes two children, Beverly and Michael, three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. The family lived in Rocky Ford and Colorado Springs before setting down roots in Northglenn, Colorado in 1961. She lived in Northglenn 62 years until her passing.
Alberta filled her 91 years with many things that brought her joy and pride, including her years working at the 7-Up Bottling Company in Colorado Springs, and IML Trucking, the Milne Trucking Company, and Purina By-Products in Denver. She also enjoyed traveling, especially to Mexico, where she spent many vacations in Mazatlan and Puerto Vallarta, and special trips to visit dear family in Leon, Guanajuato, where she got to know and love her half-sister, two nephews and their wives, and many great-nieces and great-nephews over the years.
Alberta cared lovingly for her husband, Felix, until his passing in 1999. Through the years since, she kept busy continuing to cultivate what was most important to her…. relationships! She traveled with, and loved to visit, family and friends. She especially loved researching her family genealogy and meeting new cousins. She spent countless hours with her exercise-group friends and her church friends, each of whom held a special place in her heart. Her friends will remember her as a loving and caring friend that could crack a great joke and share a good laugh, as well as be relied upon as a supportive friend to lean on and a faithful prayer warrior. She wasn’t a huge fan of surprises ... but we sure got her good with a surprise 70th birthday party that she ended up loving after she realized the party was for her and not her nephew! When she turned 90 last year we decided to keep her involved in the planning, but in the end surprised her with a mariachi band that left her speechless! That party has been one of her favorite memories and the subject of many conversations over the past 16 months!
Alberta is survived by her children: Beverly Murray and Michael Klement (Sandy Stewart); grandchildren: Larissa Turner (Craig) and Emerson Klement; great-grandchildren: Nicole Hancock, Channyn Turner, Cameron Turner, and Cienna Turner; great-great-grandson, AJ Fernandez; her sister, Angie Bachicha, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Alberta was preceded in death by her husband, Felix J. Klement; her grandson, Sean Hancock; and six brothers and three sisters.
A visitation will be held on August 23rd, 2023 between 3:00 – 6:00 pm at Olinger Highland Mortuary (10201 Grant Street, Thornton, CO 80229). The funeral service will be held on August 24th, 2023 at 11:00 am at Northglenn Christian Church (1800 E. 105th Place, Northglenn, CO 80233), with reception to follow immediately at the same location. Graveside service, Olinger Highland Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests considering a donation in Alberta’s honor to either The Denver Hospice, where she was cared for with honor in her final days, or Northglenn Christian Church, where she found a loving church family.
