

Alex was born on August 25th in Denver, Colorado to Lupe Santibanez. Alex is survived by his wife; two sons; his mother, Lupe Santibanez; his siblings, Arturo Acosta, Melina (David) Espinoza and Jesus Colmenero; his father-in-law, Eugene Trujillo; his mother-in-law, Mary (Manuel) Martinez; his brother-in-law, Troy (Bernadette) Pacheco; his sister-in-law, Valerie (Alex) Zuniga; and many nieces and nephews.
Alex worked at Denver Public Schools for many years, most recently as the Dean of Students at Bear Valley International School. He had a deep passion to save lives in any way he could. He loved working with kids and wanted to save students from bad situations.
Alex was an avid sports fan and loved the Denver Broncos and Denver Nuggets. He loved music and rapping. He loved all types of music but his favorite was 50 Cent and G-Unit. Most importantly, Alex loved spending time with his family. He loved road trips and movie nights with his family and was looking forward to their upcoming trip to NYC for spring break.
Alex was known for his huge heart, infectious laugh and smile and his kind and compassionate spirit. He was the type of person that couldn’t leave a gathering without hugging everyone goodbye and letting them know how good it was to see them.
A visitation for Alex will be held Saturday, March 5, 2022 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Olinger Highland Mortuary & Cemetery, 10201 Grant St, Thornton, CO 80229, followed by a funeral service at 4:00 PM.
