

In Loving Memory of Anthony “Tony” Roque. It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Tony, a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, who left us on August 14, 2024. Tony was 85 years young.
Tony was born on August 1, 1939, to Benito and Pauline Roque of Pueblo, CO. He spent his childhood in Pueblo and later graduated from Pueblo Central High School in 1958.
Tony joined the Navy in 1958 and was assigned to the U.S.S. Tortuga (LSD-26) as a boiler operator. He spent two years on active duty and another two years in the reserves. The Navy is where he got his love for mechanics, working with his hands and traveling. He spent many hours going to school and studying to become an Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Technician. Tony was successful in his career and was known for his dedication and expertise in his field. He became self-employed and ran his own business until he couldn’t drive anymore.
Tony loved to host barbecues for his family, drink beer, and make his famous menudo for his kids. His hobbies included collecting tools and catering equipment with a dream of catering food at the state fair.
Tony is preceded in death by his parents, Benito and Pauline Roque.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Juana Cerda De Roque of 39 years; sister, Rebecca Roque Wardlaw; Children: Eugene Roque (Juany), Jacqueline Roque Santillanes, Martin Roque and Monica Roque Dwyer (Dan), 10 grandchildren: Nadine Santillanes, Alexa Verge, Gabriella Herrera, Jared Herrera, Kacey Keefer, Tiger Roque, Alexa Roque, Bella Roque, Karina Sotuyo, Nancy Ahn and 5 great grandchildren: Ean Lucero, Mila Lucero, Journey Fortier, Myles Fortier and Azariah Ahn.
A commital service for Anthony will be held Tuesday, August 27, 2024 from 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM at Fort Logan National Cemetery, 4400 W Kenyon Ave, Denver, CO 80236.
