Dear John, Kim, Christine and Aunty Yae,

We are without words and filled with sadness of Arlene’s passing.  She was a beautiful, gentle and caring person.  So loved by all of you.  

We were unable to know her well, because of the long distances, but  she was a part of  all of you and I personally felt as though I knew her well.   A person who was part of our family.  She will be so missed.

Our hearts and thoughts are with you all.

Dear John and daughters,  
My name is Linda Wong and I am a childhood friend of Arlene’s who went to junior high all the way up through UCLA.  I am deeply saddened to hear of her passing.  Her cheerful smile and infectious laugh is my lasting image of her.  Through the years, we shared teaching stories and our daughters’ experiences.  Although we seldom saw each other, I considered her a lifelong friend.  My heartfelt sympathy to your family.
