

Barbara Joan Reddington was born April 12 1932, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to Joseph and Harmaine Lilly. Barbara and her elder sister Pat were raised in Minneapolis. After graduating Roosevelt High School, Barbara went on to receive her Bachelor’s degree at the University of Minnesota. Upon returning from a bicycle trip across Europe she married Dennis Lobben and began raising their family. When that marriage ended in divorce, Barbara met John Reddington while both were working at the National Sanitation Foundation in Ann Arbor, Michigan. They were married in July 1971. The family soon moved to Wiesbaden Germany. After settling into her new life, Barbara chose to pursue her passion of teaching. She taught with the American Overseas Schools in Europe, as an Elementary School Teacher in Wiesbaden and Darmstadt, Barbara also taught High School students in Frankfurt and Wiesbaden, while at the same time earning her Master’s Degree in School Counseling from Ball State University. After a few years of selling real estate in California, Barbara and John returned to teaching and Europe, journeying to Alconbury, England and taught for over a decade at the American High School there. Their classrooms were directly across the hall from one another. Barbara was very proud of her students who participated in Speech and Drama festivals and Model United Nations and enjoyed coaching these activities. After retiring to Colorado they chose to dabble in Real Estate to keep them active. Barbara enjoyed singing, playing guitar and Jazzercize as activities when they finally retired. Barbara lost her soulmate and husband of 47 years, John, when he passed peacefully on December 24, 2017. Barbara passed peacefully on August 12, 2019 and is survived by her sons: Denny Lobben, Martin Reddington, Michael Lobben and Tom Lobben. Her daughter Shari Kissee (Jeff); granddaughters: Caitlyn Kissee, Charlotte Lobben, Kaley Sheridan and Regan Monahan; grandsons: Jake Lobben and Mason Smith; great-grandson: Gunner Monahan.
Visitation, Friday, Aug 30th 2019 at Olinger Highland Mortuary, 10201 Grant Street Thornton, CO from 4-6 PM, Funeral Service on Saturday, Aug 31, 2019, at the same location at 10:30 AM Interment will immediately follow the Funeral at Broomfield Commons Cemetery, 12800 Sheridan Blvd for all who wish to attend. There will also be a Celebration of Life honoring Barbara; guests who choose to attend the Celebration of Life directly from the Funeral will be greeted by a family representative, until the family arrives from the burial.
