Elizabeth (Betty) Kimber Goebel passed away on February 10th, 2017 at the age of 65. She was born on November 9th, 1952 to John Evans Kimber, Jr and Marion Burnham Kimber in Boston, MA. Betty had a long and distinguished career at AT&T / Lucent / Avaya, beginning in New Jersey. She had a rich sense of adventure, which she shared with her daughters and grandchildren as often as possible. Her love of the outdoors brought her to Colorado, and led her to become a champion for the environment, especially working to educate people about climate change. Betty's devotion to justice was evident in many ways, most strikingly in how she opened her home to refugees from war-torn regions. She is survived by her daughters Suzanne Ezell and Lisa Garza, and her 6 grandchildren, who will greatly miss the adventures and outings that they shared with her. All who knew Betty are welcome to join her family and friends at her memorial service, on March 10th, 2018 at 10:00 AM. The service will be held at Olinger Highland Mortuary and Cemetery (10201 North Grant Street, Thornton, CO 80229). In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sierra Club or Amnesty International.
