

Carol Ann Simpson of Northglenn, Colorado passed away at her home in Northglenn on August 11, 2019 with her loving husband by her side. She had endured many months of health issues and was ultimately diagnosed with spinal cancer that had spread throughout her body. Her final comment prior to passing was “I don’t want to go through this anymore.” Carol was born on September 5, 1946 in Rushville, Indiana. Carol Ann was raised by her Stepfather Robert and mother Lucille (Owens) Nolan. She attended high school at Ranum High in Adams County, Colorado and continued her education at Front Range Community College obtaining an associate degree. Carol discovered her passion for working with children and excelled in her education allowing her to work in the childcare field. She began her career at Children’s World in 1990 and retired from Gateway Academy in 2011. Carol had many accomplishments including being on the Dean’s List during her entire time in college; she was promoted to supervisor and received the Director’s Certification at the day care facilities; and conducted CPR and First Aid classes for the American Red Cross. Carol met and married Lasco Bryson Simpson, Jr on December 1, 1964 in Westminster, Colorado and together had 3 children. She is survived by her husband Bryson; son Brian Lee (Jennifer) Simpson; daughters Tammi Sue (Jim) Lamers and Michelle Lynette (Jimmy) Staats; brothers Patrick Nolan and Timothy Nolan; sister Colleen (Bill) Scheller; 11 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by parents Robert and Lucille (Nolan) Fleming-Oaks; brother Michael Nolan; and sister Mary Jane Wood. Carol was a very loving, caring, kind and forgiving person with many friends. She had compassion and concern for everyone she knew. She is now healthy and strong and has overcome all the problems she has had and will be missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
