Charlene was raised in Monte Vista, Colorado, as the eldest of five siblings. Throughout her youth, she engaged in various roles, including cheerleader, bus driver, Sunday school teacher, and pianist. The piano held a central place in her life; she served as a church organist, performed at numerous weddings, and accompanied the school choir. However, her most significant contribution was her role as a piano teacher, guiding hundreds of students on their musical journeys over a remarkable span of 60 years.
Charlene is survived by her daughter, Lori (Tim), Sisters Della Kimberling and Gloria Robinson, and brother Leland Sanderson. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sons, Robert and Richard and her husband Daniel.
A graveside service for Charlene will be held Saturday, April 5, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Olinger Highland Mortuary & Cemetery, 10201 Grant St, Thornton, CO 80229.
