Charles Eugene "Bud" Jordan

Charles E. "Bud" Jordan was born on October 11, 1928 in Edgar, Nebraska and passed away on August 26, 2018 at his home in Golden, Colorado after being nursed by his special angel, his wife Janet. Bud was preceded in death by his first wife, Letty Jean Jordan; his sister, Wanda Cronin, his son, Michael Paul Jordan, Janet's son Richard Leary and grandson Christopher. He is survived by his wife Janet; his son Daniel (Jonie); his grandchildren Amanda, Matthew and Abigail (Brett); his great-grandchildren Avery and Max. He is also survived by Janet's children Terry Sluzewski (Dale), Gwynne Leary Calvin, Daniel Leary (Donna), and Jamie Bruce, along with Janet's grandchildren Michael, Tana, Abby, Travis, Danielle, Ashley, Katelyn and Alex; and his great-grandchildren Tabitha, Jacob, Reese, Charles, Maile, Zoe, Taven, Rowan, Caden, Tatum, Benson and Cash.

Bud grew up in the 30's and 40's in various towns and cities across the United States. He went to telegrapher school and then became employed by the Denver Rio Grande Railroad where he worked as a telegrapher, station agent and train dispatcher for 38 years. After retirement, he became a full time RVer, traveling to 49 states including Alaska. He was active with the Retired Railroaders, enjoying meals with them monthly. He was also an avid gardener. When his first wife, Letty Jean, passed away, he was fortunate to find Janet. They married in 2005 and they traveled for several more years in their RV before settling down in Golden near his and Janet's children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Bud was 89 years old and in excellent health when he found out he had pancreatic cancer. He was determined to beat his cancer but in July, he learned the cancer had spread and he went into home hospice; nursed by his loving wife. By the grace of God, he passed away peacefully in his bed with a minimum of suffering.

A visitation for Bud, will be held Friday, August 31, 2018 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Following the visitation will be a funeral service beginning at 11:00 AM. Both services to take place at St. Andrew Presbyterian Church located at 3096 S. Sheridan Blvd. in Denver, Colorado 80227. Bud will be laid to rest at Olinger Highland Cemetery in Thornton, Colorado.
