Dale D. Sato was a husband, father, sibling, and grandfather. He passed away on September 16, 2023 after losing his fight with cancer. He was born November 18, 1952 to George Minoru Sato and Elsie Aya Sato in Fergus Falls, Minnesota.
The youngest of four boys, Dale came of age in Colorado. He attended Sheridan high school, where much like his brothers he was on the wrestling team. After graduating high school, he attended the University of Northern Colorado where he graduated with his bachelors in industrial arts. Post college, Dale pursued a career as a musician spending a few years living in San Francisco and Chicago. After moving back home to Colorado, he proceeded to work for the Postal Service and retired after 40 years.
Throughout Dale‘s life going out to eat with family and friends brought him the most joy. Making people smile and laugh, listening to all the progressive jazz and rock music of his younger days, making mix tapes and CDs, and crafting dad jokes were a way of showing love for family and friends. He loved to travel and attend as many concerts as he could.
He is survived by his wife, Suk; daughter, Jade; grandchild, Brandon; siblings, Kenny, Allen, Donnie, and family and friends.
Dale‘s funeral service and burial will be 11am, Thursday, September 28, 2023 at Olinger’s Highland Mortuary, 10201 Grant Street in Thornton, CO.
