Born in Boulder, Colorado on July 13th 1989, my family was blessed with Daniel Ian Zimmer. This chubby, giggly little boy with locks of blonde curls and a smile that melted you instantly, charmed the hearts of all of us. Dan used that genuine smile to win him his first and last true loves, give us classic facial expressions, and it made him a beacon of light no matter his surroundings. Dan trusted with his whole heart, and was a proud protector of his family and friends. He loved sports too, specifically hockey and football playing both as he grew up and later became a tremendous golf enthusiast.
Dan graduated Boulder High School in 2007 and went full force into his own life. Given the nickname "Zim Diesel" by his life-long best friend, Dan loved anything fast and had a passion for the highs life has to offer. He was opinionated and strong willed yet full of comfort and compassion. Dan started a company with his best friends, had his dream car and his own classy signature style. He had future plans and was on a mission to achieve them. Dan showed us all that sparing no expense to experience life is worth every opportunity. He lived life fast, loud and proud. Always playing music, always smiling and indulging in his desires, an unfortunate accident has freed Dan of his burdens and reminded us all just how precious and fragile life is.
Dan was in so many lives and connected so many people that his spirit will live on forever through all our memories. He now joins our father John among the stars where they can both fly free. Dan will now watch over his sister and brother Amanda and Aaron, his mother Cathy, and uncles Mark and Tony. His spirit will be strong and continue to guide his best friends and extended family. Should anyone wish to donate, there are links to charities we know Dan would be humbled if made in his honor. There will be a celebration of life in the warmer months, where all of us can come together and share stories and memories of the incredibly beautiful soul that is my little brother, Daniel. Please reach out to family for further communications.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.olingerhighland.com for the Zimmer family.
